Description
These easy air fryer apple hand pies are golden and flaky on the outside, with warm spiced apples inside. A simple dessert made with refrigerated pie crusts and fresh apples perfect for cozy fall cravings or weeknight treats.
Ingredients
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, combine diced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Stir to coat evenly.
2. Roll out the pie crusts and cut into six 4-inch circles.
3. Spoon apple filling into the center of each circle. Fold into half-moon shapes and seal edges with a fork.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together egg and milk to make the egg wash.
5. Brush tops of hand pies with egg wash and cut a small slit in each for steam to escape.
6. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
7. Place hand pies in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Remove from air fryer, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
Notes
Best served warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or served with vanilla ice cream.
You can prep these ahead and freeze unbaked pies for later.
Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best texture.
