This Crockpot Pierogi Casserole with Kielbasa blends cheddar-filled pierogies, smoky kielbasa, creamy cheese, and savory broth into a hearty, slow-cooked comfort dish.
Ingredients
Three packages of Mrs. Tâs Cheddar Pierogies
Four cups chicken broth
One 8-ounce block cream cheese
One cup shredded cheddar cheese
One pound kielbasa, sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. In a 4-6 quart crockpot, combine 3 cups chicken broth, frozen pierogies, sliced kielbasa, and shredded cheddar cheese. Distribute evenly.
2. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6 hours to allow flavors to meld.
3. Thirty minutes before the end of cook time, warm cream cheese with remaining 1 cup chicken broth until smooth.
4. Pour cream cheese mixture into crockpot, stir well, and top with remaining cheddar cheese.
5. Cover and cook on low for 30 more minutes until cheese melts.
6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, use smoked kielbasa or add caramelized onions before slow cooking.
You can swap cheddar pierogies with potato or onion varieties for a different twist.
Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables to balance the richness.
