Description

English Muffin Breakfast Pizza is the ultimate comfort food featuring sausage, eggs, cheese, and creamy sawmill gravy layered over toasted English muffins. A hearty and indulgent breakfast that’s easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package English muffins

8 eggs

1 lb breakfast sausage

8 oz mild cheddar cheese, thin sliced

Sawmill Gravy:

2 cups milk

1/4 cup sausage drippings (add butter if not enough drippings)

1/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1/4 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

1. Cook sausage in cast iron pan until done. Remove meat and keep 1/4 cup drippings.

2. Whisk flour into drippings and cook 5–10 minutes over medium heat until golden.

3. Slowly whisk in milk. Cook until gravy boils and thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Lightly toast English muffins while preparing gravy.

5. Scramble eggs in nonstick skillet (add a splash of milk for fluffiness if desired).

6. Turn oven broiler on high. Place toasted muffins on baking sheet.

7. Spread sawmill gravy over muffins, top with scrambled eggs, cheese slices, and cooked sausage.

8. Broil until cheese is bubbly and melted. Serve warm.

Notes

For a flavor twist, try swapping sawmill gravy with cheesy chorizo gravy.

Pair with homemade hash browns for a complete breakfast.

Store leftovers in the fridge up to 2 days and reheat under the broiler.
