Ingredients
6 large buttery croissants, quartered
1 cup diced ham (or substitute cooked bacon, turkey, or omit for vegetarian)
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (or mozzarella/cheddar)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or feta/goat cheese)
6 large eggs, whisked
2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy alternative)
1 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh herbs)
1 teaspoon garlic powder (or minced fresh garlic)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh chives, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. Layer quartered croissants evenly in dish. Top with ham and Swiss cheese.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs, milk, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Pour egg mixture over croissants, pressing gently with spatula to soak.
5. Sprinkle Parmesan evenly over top.
6. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
7. Remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
8. Cool 5 minutes, garnish with chives, and serve.
